Maybe the journey isn't so much about becoming anything. Maybe it's about un-becoming everything that isn't really you, so you can b e who you were meant to be in the first place." -Paulo Coelho
Suzanne Walton, LCSW

Welcome! So glad you are here.

You are curious about affecting some kind of change in your life. I am here to help. My aim is to create a soft place for you to land so that we can do this exploration work of uncovering and honoring your true nature together.

Therapy Services

Individual Therapy

One-on-one therapy in person or online. My approach integrates mindfulness, attachment-focused, and somatic techniques. I work with those struggling with anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, big life transitions, self-worth, addictions, and those wanting to explore their identity.

Ecotherapy

Therapy, outdoors! Let’s meet out on the trail for a walk or on a cozy park bench, tapping into the healing power of nature. There’s something about being outside, and incorporating movement, that can open ourselves up to more readily and confidently explore our inner world.

Trauma Therapy

Having a trauma-informed lens in therapy means recognizing that some of your difficulties may have their roots in trauma. Our brains and bodies are deeply influenced by those experiences. When we acknowledge, understand, and reframe our traumatic experiences, we can get unstuck from patterns that no longer serve us.

My Approach To Therapy

While I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, I’ve sought out training in the treatments that I believe to be the most effective in creating deep healing and long-lasting change. Though therapy takes time, I believe specialized treatments can provide faster relief without having to rehash the past and stay in therapy for years. By integrating Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR, I help my clients address the root of the issues they are facing and develop the insight and self-compassion necessary to work through life’s challenges. Above all else, I am a relational therapist and believe in the therapeutic alliance as one of the most important contributing factors towards change.
